2026 RECAP

Over two days, thousands of storytellers, scientists, executives, and advocates from 65 countries came together with one mission: to make entertainment a force for climate action

DAY 1: HIGHLIGHTS

Lisa Joy (Fallout), Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, and Alison Tatlock (Pluribus) opened with a conversation about speculative fiction as cultural prototyping for a future where we get it right.

Star Trek writer Bill Wolkoff and star Melissa Navia connected with former and future astronauts to explore The Overview Effect and how space exploration can grow our enthusiasm for protecting our one-of-a-kind home planet.

Comedian-lawyers Milana Vayntrub, Joanna Hausmann & Esteban Gast put fake Big Meat & Dairy spokespeople Anna Garcia and Joey Bragg on trial in a court overseen by the honorable and hilarious Kasaun Wilson.

HCS Prioritizes Sustainable Event Production

We have some incredible vendors and partners who actively help us make our event sustainable and model what is possible when you back up your values with action.

Good Planet Innovation, our sustainability partner, led the charge alongside r.World, keeping the event's footprint in check.

From local family-owned restaurants dishing up plant-based bites, to Support+Feed and Everyday Action redistributing food and keeping waste out of landfills, to Saniset Fleet and Quixote electrifying and ensuring re-use for our production operations.

And some even created experiences that help address another area of sustainability: sustaining ourselves!

Re:wild hosted an immersive installation where audiences traveled from the chaos of urban noise into the living, breathing soundscapes of ecosystems powered by real field recordings and the voices of local communities.

Mind Set brought a wellness and mindfulness experience, giving attendees space to recharge between sessions.
