FOOD PROGRAM

Hollywood Climate Summit is fully plant-based and operates with a zero-waste mission: all possible edible food waste is recovered and donated locally, all other food waste is composted.

Our food experience is a coveted offering of our main conference. It has been featured top food press and reviewed by some of LA's leading plant-based creators.

We build partnerships with regional and national brands to financially sponsor our food program as well offer in-kind support. Any budget raised goes directly into bringing in local, family-owned vegan restaurants to share their cultural and plant based menus.

OUR FOOD WASTE PARTNERS 

Since 2022, HCS has been a fully plant-based conference, one of the only climate conferences to adopt this practice. The food we serve is an important part of our sustainability process, but waste and emission reduction are also critical. For instance, we focus on zero-waste snacks and our partner,  Re_Grocery, provides bulk bins where snacks are eaten out of R.world re-usable cups. 

To ensure that no food is discarded, we partner with a number of incredible organizations. Aside from composting, all of our recovered food is donated within a day to various partner organizations around LA

CHRIS TUCKER

CULINARY DIRECTOR

Chris is a Southern-turned-vegan chef who discovered his passion for plant-based cooking four years ago. He specializes in both exquisite vegan pastries and innovative savory dishes, creating everything from delicate buttercream-topped cakes to six-course fine dining experiences. Using locally sourced ingredients, he serves private clients while sharing his culinary expertise through digital platforms and television appearances. Chris has appeared as an expert chef on CBS, Tastemade, CA Live, and more, and has judged on "Peeled," the first all-vegan cooking competition show. His notable achievements include providing vegan desserts for Elton John's Oscar Party and Steven Tyler's Grammy fundraiser. As a Los Angeles private chef and culinary director for the Hollywood Climate Summit, Chris advocates for incorporating more plant-based meals into daily life while partnering with organizations like PETA and The Humane League for charitable causes.
